Jan. 9, 2013, Calgary, AB - Not long after wrapping up its first-ever regional meetings and elections, and with its newly elected Board of Directors and Regional Representatives now in place, the Alberta Wheat Commission is busy preparing for its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The AGM will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Westin Hotel in Edmonton. The meeting will provide wheat producers with the opportunity to meet the 2013 board of directors and regional representatives in person, learn more about the business of the new organization and hear updates on the organization's priorities for 2013.
In addition to hearing informative presentations on three of the AWC's key priority areas – research, marketing and communications – eligible wheat producers in attendance at the meeting will also have the opportunity to vote on two resolutions, and elect a director-at-large who will represent the interests and perspectives of wheat growers across the province on the AWC's board of directors.
