Two agriculture scholarship programs on offer from Bayer

Bayer has announced two scholarship opportunities available for both graduating high school students and current post-secondary students across Canada. Both programs are now open for 2020 and accepting applications.

The Bayer Crop Science Scholarship for Future Leaders is designed for students who are enrolled in an agriculture bachelor’s degree program at one of six eligible Canadian agriculture universities: Dalhousie University, University of Alberta, University of Guelph, University of Lethbridge, University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan. Each scholarship is valued at $5,000 annually and awarded to students who have demonstrated their leadership, engagement and contribution to agriculture in Canada through their academic, volunteer/community involvement and/or their extra-curricular activities. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2020.

The Bayer Fund Opportunity Scholarship is for graduating grade 12 students entering their first year of post-secondary education in agriculture, food science or a culinary program at a Canadian university or college of their choice in fall 2020. Up to 65 scholarships valued at $1,500 each will be awarded to students based on demonstrated academic standards and leadership in their community. The application deadline for this scholarship is June 10, 2020.

Both programs are managed by Universities Canada and selections will be made by an independent panel. Interested, eligible students are encouraged to apply today.
