Aerial surveillance seeks soybean drought tolerance

Nov. 2, 2011 -A University of Arkansas researcher is using an innovative helicopter-like machine to monitor 1200 research plots for traits that could lead to the development of drought-tolerant soybeans. The Oktokopter uses a digital infrared camera to measure temperatures as an indication of water availability and is similar in design to a drone being tested by A&L Laboratory in London, Ontario.        READ MORE
