InVigor trial results now available

Oct. 16, 2013, Calgary, AB - Bayer CropScience has released its Demonstration Strip Trial (DST) results for the 2013 harvest. Growers can now visit InVigorResults.ca to compare the entire InVigor canola hybrid lineup versus competitor results in their area.

In the DST results, InVigor L252 and InVigor L261 yielded 110 per cent and 107 per cent, respectively, of the new check hybrids (InVigor 5440 and Pioneer Hi-Bred 45H29) in the 2011 and 2012 WCC/RRC registration trials. L252 was also the highest-yielding long season zone hybrid in Bayer CropScience internal trials for the past two years, while L261 was the highest-yielding hybrid in the mid-season zone.

Both InVigor L252 and InVigor L261 hybrids displayed the same lodging resistance as InVigor L130. As trials are harvested, the website will continue to provide updates on the 2013 DST results.

In 2014, Bayer CropScience will launch its first-ever InVigor hybrid with built-in sclerotinia tolerance. InVigor L160S combines sclerotinia tolerance with the benefits of the LibertyLink system. The new InVigor L160S hybrid also features enhanced standability while offering the yield potential of InVigor.

Also coming in 2014 is the Western Canada launch of a new pod shatter reduction hybrid, InVigor L140P. Bayer CropScience says this new hybrid will help growers maximize yield performance while mitigating losses associated with pod shatter, allowing growers to consider delayed swathing or straight cutting.
