Olds College of Agriculture and Technology has officially opened and named its new agricultural learning centre. The Werklund Agriculture and Technology Centre has opened on campus in time for the fall semester.
The facility, whose construction is valued at $14 million, includes a technology-focused learning space, lecture hall, three large labs, group working areas and common spaces. It will serve as the official home to the college’s new Bachelor of Digital Agriculture program.
The campus was named for philanthropists and donors Dave Werklund and Sue Norman-Werklund.
Patrick Machacek, VP of development and strategy for Olds College, said in a statement that the new centre is a “state-of-the-art learning facility that creates a high-tech learning environment for our students… On behalf of Olds College of Agriculture & Technology, I would like to thank David and Susan for their continued support of our students.”
