Launch of Canola: A Canadian Story of Innovation

The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, along with several partners in the canola industry, has announced that the Canola: A Story of Canadian Innovation travelling display has opened at “Good As Gold,” the annual Convention of the Canola Council of Canada (CCC). Canola: A Story of Canadian Innovation highlights the science and innovation behind canola in time for the CCC’s 50th anniversary this year.

The display presents the Canadian story of ingenuity behind the versatile crop, which is now exported to over 50 countries, generating billions for the Canadian economy each year. The display explores the history and development of canola, its uses in industries from food processing to transportation and its place on Canadian tables. The display will also open a window into the potential future of canola – visitors will learn about the current research being conducted to improve canola varieties and yield.

The display will be at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport from March 10 to 23, 2017. More information on this display, including the national tour schedule, can be found here
