Dry conditions persist in Alberta, next few weeks will be crucial

June 19, 2015 - A dry spring in parts of Alberta has stunted the growth of crops, leading ranchers to fear a widespread shortage of forages and grain.
The driest spring in recent memory has already taken a toll on Mayerthorpe-area crops, but there's still a good chance rain will wash away fears of drought, says Alberta Agriculture soil moisture specialist Ralph Wright.
