September 20, 2023  By Top Crop Manager

Sevita Genetics announced an agreement with Corteva Agriscience to offer Corteva’s Enlist E3™ soybean genetics for Canada, allowing Sevita Genetics to provide Corteva soybean germplasm to independent seed company licensees who have the appropriate Enlist E3™ soybean trait license and germplasm agreements.

Beginning this 2023 season, Sevita Genetics have included some of Corteva’s Enlist E3™ pre-commercial soybean varieties in its current testing and selection processes. Sevita Genetics will demonstrate Corteva germplasm across Canada and Enlist E3™ licensees will be able to visit Sevita Genetics testing plots to view commercial and pre-commercial varieties in the field. After product advancements in the fall of 2023, Sevita Genetics will inform independent seed companies and licensees which potential Enlist E3™ soybean varieties are available for licensing through Sevita Genetics. In November 2023, Sevita Genetics will include Corteva varieties as part of its Enlist E3™ soybean portfolio offering to independent seed companies and brands.

Our focus for almost 15 years has been our breeding program, with the ultimate goal of developing and commercializing soybean varieties for seed companies that meet customer’s needs,” says Alain Létourneau, Sevita Genetics, CEO. “This agreement complements our own Enlist E3™ soybean proprietary genetics offering and helps us fulfill the promise of bringing high-yielding genetics with a strong defensive package to the Canadian market.

The Enlist E3™ soybean trait, part of the Enlist™ weed control system, provides exceptional weed control with multiple modes of action. It utilizes the transgenic Enlist E3™ soybean event jointly developed and owned by Corteva Agriscience and M.S. Technologies L.L.C. Enlist E3™ soybeans give farmers choices for weed control by utilizing Enlist™ herbicides with Colex-D® technology. Sevita Genetics adds some of Corteva’s genetics to its own genetics licensing portfolio which already includes Enlist E3™ soybean and conventional varieties.

Sevita Genetics launched its proprietary Enlist E3™ soybean varieties in the Canadian licensing market in 2021 and since then has been expanding its portfolio. The agreement with Corteva further bolsters the company’s offerings as it works to gain a more prominent position in the Canadian market.

This agreement is yet another milestone on our quest to provide the best soybeans to the Canadian market, says Létourneau.

Independent seed companies may contact a Sevita Genetics representative to learn more about Sevita Genetics entire portfolio of soybean products.
