700 Environment Canada jobs on the chopping block

Aug. 4, 2011 -Unions representing workers at Environment Canada are warning that the agency is set to cut more than 700 jobs, including 19 meteorologists from Ontario and the Prairies. A statement from the federal department counters that assertion, however, stating that 300 positions are being eliminated, with most being covered through attrition.         READ MORE
