Possible major weather cooldown forming

Aug. 4, 2011 -The thermostat on the US Midwest and for the Great Lakes basin may be moving down, at least for a short-term period. The North Atlantic Oscillation is on the move, a rarity for mid-summer, creating a southward shift in the polar jet stream and cooling the extreme heat in the US heartland.
