An ongoing research project on Prince Edward Island is studying the potential for a special hybrid of willow tree, to be planted as a fast-growing and renewable source of biomass.

July 6, 2011 -An ongoing research project on Prince Edward Island is
studying the potential for a special hybrid of willow tree, to be
planted as a fast-growing and renewable source of biomass. To put it
into a per-house basis, a tonne of biomass from willows would fill three
round bales or be roughly equivalent to 400 litres of heating fuel. READ MORE
