Tractor convoy Sunday to oppose mega-quarry

Aug. 26, 2011 -A convoy of tractors -large and small -is taking to the highways of Dufferin County in Ontario, this Sunday, part of a protest against a mega-quarry which, if carried out, would see an initial depletion of more than 2300 acres plus 600,000 cubic metres of water useage daily. The owners of the quarry contend that once the aggregates are extracted, they will remediate the quarry to enable farmers to work the floor of the quarry.                    READ MORE
