Rain in Alberta benefits crops
July 30, 2014 - Much needed precipitation fell in much of Alberta over the past week, with the exception of southern Alberta. According to the most recent Alberta Agriculture crop report, with most crops now entering the kernel filling stage, this moisture will be very beneficial for both yield and maturity.
Initial yield estimates place provincial yields at 105 per cent of the Alberta historical 10 year average, though down 10–15 per cent from the yields of 2013.
