Harvest underway in Manitoba

Aug. 27, 2013, Winnipeg, MB - Manitoba's cereal crops continue to progress rapidly as a result of the ongoing warm conditions last week, according to Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives Crop Production Report, released yesterday.

Harvest of spring cereals has started in most areas of the province. Yields to date are generally average to above
average, with spring wheat yields ranging from 40 to 75 bu/acre, barley 70 to 80 bu/acre, and oats 100 to 130 bu/acre.
