Feds invest to advance soybean quality

Sept. 15, 2014, Quebec – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has invested $182,558 into La Coop fédérée as part of the AgriInnovation program for a project on introgression of desirable food quality traits in early widely adapted soybean.

The support will help fund the research project over a period of four years, according to Gaétan Desroches, chief executive officer for La Coop fédérée, in a press release.

The project started in the fall of 2012 thanks to the support of the Elite Grains and will be carried out for a total of seven years.
