Farmhouse severances continue to be prohibited

Sept. 30, 2011 -The Ontario Municipal Board has sided with Perth County, in midwestern Ontario, and the maintenance of the country's ban on severing surplus farm land. Two of the wards in the county, West Perth and Perth South, have appealed the ruling but were dismissed, an action viewed by the county's warden as a sign that agricultural lands will continue to be protected.                READ MORE
