Wheat harvest in Ontario progressing well

The wheat harvest survey shows good quality and progress for all classes of wheat across Ontario.

July 24, 2018  By Grain Farmers of Ontario

The survey is conducted by the Grains Analytical Testing Laboratory, a partnership between Grain Farmers of Ontario and SGS Canada. The program will continue to document the quality of this year’s harvest. So far, 73 samples have been collected with a majority of samples being soft red winter wheat.

Protein in soft red winter wheat is higher than last year at 9.9 per cent and little to no Fusarium is present because of the dry weather this season.
