This session has been approved for 1 CCA-CEU in Integrated Pest Management.

During this free 60-minute session, Boyd Mori, a research scientist working in insect ecology and population genetics at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, will discuss the midge’s biology and range, how to identify damage and the midge’s potential impact on canola yields.

You’ll walk away with an understanding of the differences between this species and its close relative, the swede midge, plus the latest from research projects aimed at determining the biology and range of both swede midge and the newly identified midge.

Boyd will also share results from a project to identify the pheromone of the newly identified species to create a monitoring trap.
