Some crop lodging in Manitoba
July 7, 2015 - Over the past weekend, areas of Manitoba saw thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, strong winds, and in some cases hail. Crop lodging occurred, particularly in spring cereals and corn.
Despite that, crops are advancing quickly in the province, according to the latest crop report. The smoky, hazy conditions have not impacted crops, and may have helped buffer temperatures as well as benefited crops in the drier areas of the province.
