Ridgetown campus working on ginger and rice crops
The municipality of Chatham-Kent already grows more than 70 different crops, but two other crops could someday be part of the mix.
Soon, the second trial crop of ginger will be planted at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. And if all goes as planned, a trial crop of rice will be planted next growing season. The local economic development department has called on the Ridgetown campus to work with Chinese partners to see if ginger and rice could become sustainable crops in this area.| READ MORE
