An updated version of the Canadian book, Agriculture Law in Canada by Robert Fuller, has been published. The second edition of the book, with most chapters updated and extended, became available on Aug. 31, 2019.
The book has been a resource for financial institutions, farm advisors, lawyers, students, professors, government workers, and farmers.
The book covers ownership, public control of farmland, the business organization of farm operations, farm financing, employment law, liability on the farm, regulating production and sales of agricultural product and trade, farm succession and estate planning, termination of a farm operation and taxation of farming.
“Farming is big business in Canada, [and] wrong answers wreck careers and cost millions of dollars. Each author spent hundreds of hours reviewing legal cases, government regulations, and many other sources before compiling this trustworthy reference,” wrote Robert Muller, lead author of the book, in a release.
