Organic directory for Western Canada

Mar. 31, 2014 - The organic sectors in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia have connected to develop a western Canadian organic business directory. The directory lists all companies that provide services or processed products to businesses in the organic sector.

The directory was developed with input from Organic Alberta, Saskatchewan Organic Directorate, Manitoba Organic Alliance and Certified Organic Associations of BC, with an aim to connecting businesses within the organic community.

Organic producers can use the directory to find inputs such as seed and feed, services such as processing and certification, and customers such as buyers, brokers, restaurants and retailers. The directory also allows retailers and restaurants to find processed and packaged products to sell, and processors can search for organic ingredients or places to sell their product.

The four provincial organic groups collected information for all types of businesses involved in the organic sector and compiled them into the new tool.

The Western Canadian Organic Business Directory is available free in electronic format on each of the provincial associations' websites; paper copies are also available for purchase. Visit Organic Alberta for more information or to purchase.
