Ontario grain farmers wanted for survey on digital farming and big data
Researchers from the University of Waterloo's School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability are looking for Ontario grain farmers to share their perspectives on digital farming and big data in food production.

Researchers state that there is growing positive enthusiasm for digital farming, but public, private and academic conversations do not represent those most directly affected, the farmers. The survey covers the emergence of new technologies and applications of big data and the GIS mapping, drones, sensors, and advanced computer hardware that is becoming more commonplace in farming operations. The researchers released an open call to grain farmers to help and share their perspectives in an online questionnaire.
Participants will answer a 10-minute online questionnaire and have the option to volunteer for a more in-depth interview (in person or over the phone). Eligible participants must be over the age of 18, live in Ontario, and work on a farm that grows soy, corn or wheat.
Researchers are accepting survey responses until January 21, 2019. Access the online survey.
