Sask Mustard honours carinata pioneer
Developed as industrial oilseed mustard, carinata has been grown on more than 10,000 acres by 70 different farmers in southern Saskatchewan and Alberta the past two years. For 2014, contracted production is expected to be at least 25,000 acres.

Ag industry invests in supply chain improvements

New grain loading app
Load Judge, available in Canada, includes six proximity sensors and one moisture sensor, which are easily installed in a hopper bottom trailer. The sensors send a wireless signal to the truck cab, where the operator can view a graphical illustration of the grain loading, as well as bushel and weight estimators, on a smartphone or iPad.
