Hail risk not over on the Prairies
August continues to pose a significant hail risk, with much of the crop development across the Prairies behind average for this date. Historically, late August has seen some very costly storms as crops ripen and are more susceptible to hail damage.

Canadian durum featured in international program
Representatives from 10 countries are in Winnipeg this week, at Cigi’s International Durum Wheat Program. The program, which runs all week, includes lectures, laboratory sessions, field visits, and pilot processing demonstrations on Canadian durum wheat.

Harvest Sample Program ramping up again
