Rising floodwater has forced more than 50 people from their homes on a Saskatchewan First Nation and led to emergencies in half a dozen communities. Several communities have declared states of emergency.

StatsCan reports increased planting intentions
Planting intentions for 2013 show increases in spring wheat and durum wheat compared with 2012, as well as a possible decrease in canola acreage, according to the results of the Statistics Canada March Farm Survey. Indications are that both corn for grain and soybean areas could reach new records nationally.

Richardson acquires Viterra grain, crop inputs and milling assets
Richardson International Limited has acquired a significant number of Viterra assets through an agreement announced last March to acquire in excess of $800 million worth of Viterra assets from Glencore.
