G3 expanding to Alberta and growing in Saskatchewan

G3 Canada Limited has announced plans to build two new facilities, including its first primary elevator in Alberta, and further expand its grain origination network in Saskatchewan.

G3 intends to build a new primary elevator south ofWetaskiwininCentral Alberta. The facility will be the first G3 location in the province ofAlberta. It also plans to construct a new primary elevator nearMaidstone, according to a company press release.

Both new elevators are being built with 42,000 tonnes storage capacity. TheMaidstoneelevator will be located on CN Rail and theWetaskiwinsite is on CP Rail. Construction of the new elevators is expected to commence in April, subject to receiving regulatory approval, and both are slated for completion prior to the 2019 harvest. G3’s other primary elevators underway inSaskatchewan, nearSaskatoonandMelville, are in the latter stages of construction and expected to be operational in summer 2018.
