Deadline approaches for Digital Farming and Big Data survey

The deadline to participate in an Ontario survey about digital farming and big data is approaching, with responses being accepted until Jan. 31, 2019.

The University of Waterloo, School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability is conducting a research study to gather the perspectives of Ontario grain farmers on the emergence of digital technologies and big data use in agriculture. The study wants to know how farmers are responding to the increase of GIS mapping technology, drones, sensors, and advanced computer hardware, in farm operations today.

If you are a grain farmer, or someone who works on farms that grow soy, corn, or wheat, in Ontario, fill out a 10-minute online questionnaire to help with the survey. Participants will also have the option to volunteer for a more in-depth interview in person or over the phone (30-40 minutes).

If you would prefer not to complete the online survey, but would still like to complete the survey in an alternative format or to only participate in the interview, please contact Sarah-Louise at sruder@uwaterloo.ca.
