New winter wheat growers guide
May 29, 2013, Calgary, AB - The Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) has released a Winter Wheat Production Manual, a project originally spear-headed by the former Alberta Winter Wheat Producers Commission but handed over to and completed by the AWC.
The manual includes a calendar detailing numerous moments throughout the growing cycle which easily conveys what a producer needs to be aware of at those times during the growing cycle, such as when the optimum seeding time for different regions of the province would be.
Content for the Alberta Wheat Commission's Winter Wheat Production Manual was researched and assembled by Dr. Linda Hall's 2011 Cropping System Class in the University of Alberta's Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science Department.
The 75-page manual is designed in full color with illustrative tables, charts, photos and other easily understood content.
