New standard and guide samples for peas, wheat in Western Canada

Dec. 17, 2013, Winnipeg, MB - The Canadian Grain Commission's (CGC) Western Standards Committee recommended new standard samples and guide samples for peas and wheat.
Canadian Grain Commission inspection experts say that the most common grading factors were:
- Ergot and fusarium damage in wheat
- Weather staining and immaturity in soybeans and peas
- Hard vitreous kernels (HVK) in amber durum
