New molecule boosts wheat
An Indian researcher has discovered a new molecule that makes wheat resistant to climatic stress and boosts yield by 50 per cent. This biotechnology process uses Trehalose-6-phosphate (a central sugar signal in plants), which regulates sucrose use and allocation, underpinning crop growth and development to signal the plant to produce more starch. | READ MORE
