New broadleaf herbicides released by MANA

Mar. 4, 2013, Winnipeg, MB – MANA Canada has released two new broadleaf herbicides: Rush 24 for use in wheat and barley; and TopLine for use in wheat, barley and oats.

Rush 24 is a co-pack of fluroxypyr and 2,4-D ester, the same active ingredients and rates as OcTTain XL herbicide. TopLine contains florasulam and MCPA ester, the same active ingredients as Frontline herbicide.

Rush 24 controls a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds in spring wheat, durum wheat and barley. With two Group 4 active ingredients, Rush 24 controls tough broadleaf weeds such as cleavers, kochia and wild buckwheat, including Group 2 resistant biotypes. In the southern Prairies, Rush 24 will control flixweed and Group 2 resistant kochia; on the northern Prairies, it works well on cleavers, wild buckwheat and volunteer flax. It will also control Group 9 resistant kochia.

For better control of larger broadleaf weeds, Rush 24 can be tank-mixed with an additional two active ounces per acre of 2,4-D Ester LV 700. Rush 24 is also tank-mixable with several grassy weed herbicides for broad-spectrum, one-pass weed control.

TopLine controls a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds in wheat, barley and oat crops. For best results, TopLine should be applied when weeds are in the one to four leaf stage and the cereal crop is in the two to six leaf stage. It is a good fit in the dark brown, black and gray soil zones where cleavers, hemp-nettle, wild buckwheat and volunteer canola are problems.

TopLine is tank-mixable with several grassy weed herbicides for broad-spectrum, one-pass weed control, combineing the power of Group 2 and Group 4 herbicides for improved broadleaf weed control, and to help prevent and manage herbicide resistance.
