Manitoba grain and oilseed report: Barley, yellow peas down weekly, all up year-over-year

Prices on grains and oilseeds in Manitoba continue to climb on a year-over-year basis despite some small week-over-week drops for the week ending April 8.

Barley came in at $403.27 per tonne, a drop of $3..67 per tonne or 0.9 per cent. Its price per tonne remains 61.4 per cent higher than it was the same week one year ago.

The other week-over-week reduction was in the price of yellow peas, which came in at $591.95 per tonne, down $5.51 or 0.92 per cent. The price of yellow peas, however, remains 72 per cent higher than they were one year ago.

Big rises included northern hard red wheat (up $29.76 to $491.63) and canola (up $37.48 to $1,139.54).
