Manitoba crop report: June 23

June 23, 2014 - Seeding operations in Manitoba are essentially complete for the 2014 season, according to the latest Manitoba crop report.

Over the past week, thunderstorms resulted in precipitation amounts ranging from 9 mm to over 80 mm in the province. The excess moisture is impacting crop growth, particularly in the lower areas of fields. Crop yellowing is evident. In addition, hail was reported in several areas over the weekend of June 21-22.
