Manitoba crop report: June 16
June 17, 2014 - Seeding progress in Manitoba is estimated at 90 per cent complete, according to the province's latest crop report.
By region, seeding is 80 per cent complete in the southwest region, 90 per cent complete in the northwest region, and over 95 per cent complete in the central, eastern and Interlake regions.
A majority of areas in the province received precipitation over the past week, with accumulations varying from 8 mm to over 100 mm. Crop injury will depend on the stage of crop development and duration of the excessive moisture conditions.
Windy conditions have hampered weed control operations in some areas of the province, and the cooler temperatures are slowing crop development.
