News Soybeans Pulses
Manitoba bean crops further along than in recent years

June 24, 2020  By Top Crop Manager

Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers has released their Bean Report for June 24. This edition provides a crop report update, but also includes a variety of scouting tips to identify pests and diseases before they can affect crop stands too much.

Compared to 2019, 2018 and 2017, soybeans are one stage further along, ranging from VC to V4 (rather than VC to V3, V1 to V3, and VE to V2, respectively).

If mycosphaerella (ascochyta) blight, poor nodulation, pea aphids, or iron deficiency chlorosis (IDC) are among your concerns, the report has tips for determining thresholds and managing the issue.
