Longer planting window for Optimize soybean enhances convenience

September 17, 2012, Saskatoon, Sk – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has granted the registration of a 120-day planting window for soybeans that are treated with Optimize. A list of compatible seed treatments can be found at the Canadian section of the Novozymes’ BioAg website, www.bioag.novozymes.com.

Optimize combines a premium nitrogen inoculant with Novozymes’ patented LCO Promoter Technology to drive natural growth processes to help soybean crops achieve their full yield potential. Optimize for soybeans is a retailer-treated product, and the new 120-day planting window means more flexibility for farmers and seed retailers.

“The new 120 day planting window is a significant improvement over the previous 30-day planting window for Optimize soybean. Retailers will be able to treat soybean seed earlier, allowing farmers to take the Optimize-treated seed home sooner,” says Trevor Thiessen, President, Novozymes BioAg. “The new planting window will help to reduce spring bottlenecks for both retailers and farmers, which will help to speed up the seeding operation.”

Optimize with LCO Promoter Technology drives communication between the soybean plant and the nitrogen inoculant independent of soil conditions. This breakthrough molecule produces enhanced nutritional capabilities that maximize soybean plant growth and overall crop performance. The improved natural growth processes result in a healthier start for plants, with increased root and shoot growth, earlier and increased nodule development, improved vigour, stand and emergence.
