La Nina repeat threatens Southern US Plains

Sept. 29, 2011 -Just days after reporting that a return of a La Nina event would help the northern tier states of the US, DTN/The Progressive Farmer now reports that such a repeat will actually harm the Southern Plains region, which has already endured harsh drought conditions. The only silver lining -and it is for Canadian wheat growers -is that such a continued drought will impact the US wheat crop in 2012.    READ MORE
