Cabbage seedpod weevil: When to spray

Cabbage seedpod weevils are working away on early canola crops Cabbage seedpod weevil: When to spray.The goal with a spray is to stop adults from laying eggs in newly formed pods. These eggs hatch into larvae that feed on the seeds, causing the yield loss.
Cabbage seedpod weevils don’t lay eggs until pods are at least 3/4 inches long — so aim to spray just before first pods reach that stage. This will be around 10 per cent to 20 per cent bloom.
