GFO represented on Barley Council of Canada board
Feb. 12, 2016, Ontario – Grain Farmers of Ontario vice-chair Markus Haerle is one of two new directors of the Barley Council of Canada (BCC), following its annual general meeting last week. Grain Farmers of Ontario is a new member of the BCC since expanding to include barley and oat crops in 2015.
“I am happy to see our membership has grown to include [Grain Farmers of Ontario],” said BCC chair Brian Otto in a press release. “Our board structure represents a diverse cross-section of Canada’s barley industry; having [Grain Farmers of Ontario] at the table helps us further unite Canada’s barley industry.”
BCC membership includes all provincial and regional barley organizations from coast-to-coast as well as malting, brewing, feed users, grain handlers and exporters, researchers, and seed and life sciences companies. The BCC board is comprised of representatives from each of these sectors
