In the same week as a Globe and Mail interactive feature pegged Canadian farmers receiving $ 8.0 billion in government subsidies, annually, a report from an Ottawa-based trade and public affairs agency has estimated the cost of subsidizing US farmers at more than $ 180 billion in 2009.
