DuPont launches new herbicide for corn
Jan. 9, 2014, Mississauga, Ont. – DuPont Engarde herbicide will be available in Ontario and Quebec for the 2014 corn growing season.
Engarde contains two modes-of-action (Groups 2 and 27) against broadleaf and grass weeds from pre-emergence up to the 2-leaf stage of corn, the company says in a press release. The herbicide can be used in conventional, minimum or no-till corn production and delivers knockdown and residual activity, the release added.
Engarde is meant to work on broadleaf weeds including common ragweed, lamb's-quarters, redroot pigweed (including triazine resistant biotypes), velvetleaf and wild mustard. Engarde is labeled for a broad spectrum of grassy weeds, including barnyard grass, fall panicum, green and yellow foxtail, old witch grass and crabgrass.
