Grain corn ear mould and vomitoxin (DON) survey released

The 2018 grain corn ear mould and vomitoxin (DON) survey found 60 per cent of Ontario grain corn samples tested low - less than two parts per million (ppm), for DON.

The survey was a collaboration between the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs field staff, Grain Farmers of Ontario, and members of the Ontario Agri-Business Association. Mycotoxins, particularly DON, can be disruptive when fed to livestock. The report breaks down survey methodology, results and next steps for managing ear rots. | READ MORE
