Defeat of Bill C-474 good news for farming

Feb. 11, 2011 -News of Wednesday's defeat of Bill C-474 by Parliamentary vote is being greeted enthusiastically by the Canadian Canola Growers Association. The NDP-supported bill, which claimed to reduce the risk of loss of markets due to the presence of genetically modified technology, was defeated soundly in the House of Commons by Conservative and Liberal members, yet not well reported outside of agricultural circles.       READ MORE
