Deadline to register for Manitoba’s Disaster Financial Assistance 2022 Spring Flood Program extended

The deadline to register your farm for assistance through Manitona’s Disaster Financial Assistance 2022 Spring Flood Program has been extended to Sept. 23, 2022.

Event dates are March 20 to July 20. Damages or losses incurred during that period are included in the 2022 Spring Flood DFA program. After applications close on Sept. 23, the program closes on Nov. 15. Claimants’ repairs will be completed as soon as possible, no later than Nov. 15.

Not all disaster events will result in a DFA program being established. DFA programs may be established when three criteria are met:

• Damages from the event are widespread and affect a large area or number of residents;
• Damages from the event are mostly uninsurable; and
• Damages from the event represent a significant financial burden.
