A county council near London, Ontario, has ruled against a farmer who was cutting down trees on his own property in order to increase his land base for agricultural use.

Aug. 31, 2011 – A county council near London, Ontario has ruled against a
farmer who was cutting down trees on his own property in order to
increase his land base for agricultural use. The council has fined him
$400 per acre of trees that have been cut down, with one councillor
suggesting the fine is insufficient, while one neighbour stated it was
