China’s corn rush to redraw global food landscape

Oct. 3, 2011 -They did it nearly 20 years ago with soybeans, and according to recent signs on the markets, China will triple its corn purchases next crop year, thereby putting even more pressure on global food supplies. The world's most populous country is already the leading importer of soybeans, and if this trend takes shape in corn, the long-term price of corn could exceed $8 per bushel.          READ MORE
