Cape Breton plant will not burn biomass

Oct. 5, 2012. Baddeck, NS - Cape Breton Explorations have successfully financed a $36 million project to build a six-megawatt biomass plant.

According to the Daily Business Buzz, the project will use gasification and anaerobic digesters to generate methane gas obtained from food waste and other organic waste (such as wood fibre).

The biomethane that will be produced could also be used to supply vans and trucks that have been modified and there are plans to have a fueling station on site, Cape Breton Exploration president Luciano Lisi said.

For more on the plant, please see the entire article at the Daily Business Buzz.
