Call of the Land app now includes “coming events”

May 11, 2015 - A new coming events feature has been added to Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development's (ARD) Call of the Land mobile application (app).

In addition to enabling Android and iPhone users to access interviews and stories from the popular agriculture radio program, the new version of the app includes a searchable listing of upcoming agricultural events across the province. These include trade shows, fairs, conferences, workshops or any of the events that are listed on the ARD webpage in the coming events section.

Barb Shackel-Hardman, ARD director, ag-industry, extension and training branch, says anyone who has an agriculture-related event that they want to promote on Call of the Land or through the ARD webpage can send an email to duke@gov.ab.ca to have it added.

Call of the Land is a five day-a-week agricultural radio program produced by ARD. This information and extension program is aired on 25 Alberta radio stations, and reaches a daily audience of over 110,000 listeners.

The updated Call of the Land mobile application is available as a free download from the iTunes Store and Google Play.
