Bertha armyworm near economic thresholds
Aug. 6, 2011 -Hotter, drier weather across many regions of the Prairies has helped bertha armyworm numbers. Some growers in Manitoba, eastern Saskatchewan and the Peace River district have sprayed their crops already. At the very least, says the Council, growers should be scouting their fields to determine whether the bertha armyworms are approaching threshold, especially given the current price of canola.
